Back in September a planned week long hike on the Cape to Cape Track in south west Australia fell through, leaving me wih nowhere to go, and quite honestly, a wee bit depressed! Mr R could sense my disappointment, and being the awesome amazing husband that he is, suggested that perhaps I take a week off another time, and go somewhere close enough to home, and a place I hadn’t been to yet. Fast forward to January, and I was on a plane to Queenstown New Zealand, to hike the Routeburn Track and explore Milford Sound! How lucky am I?
Coming in to land I knew that this was going to be a special place. All those mountains below me – the landscape of my dreams! Over the coming weeks I will blog about the place that has touched my heart, and a place I will definitely return back to with family in tow!
I look forward to more posts on that hiking route! We had such an amazing time in the area many years ago, and I’d love to go back, partly because we just adored Queenstown in general and also because we got rained and fogged out of Milford Sound. 😦
Thanks Lex. I’ll be back with the family as well in the future – too nice a place to only visit once!
Mmmh, that’s a great appetiser, can’t wait for the trail proper.
