Horseshoe Bend

There are some days on the road that surprise you, places that you never knew existed are discovered, and can easily be visited. Horseshoe Bend in Arizona was one such place.

This amazing natural feature is accessible by a short 1.8km walk from US route 89 highway, just outside of the small township of Page. This short walk from the side of the road leads to a steep cliff lookout with a 1000 foot drop.

I had never heard of this point but I’m glad we stopped. The Colorado River is amazing, and this meandering river has carved some amazing features over the Millenia, including this horseshoe shaped gorge. No photos can do it justice!

As close as I'd get!
